crawt001 First got into manga (and anime) through a friend, who recommended Death Note to me, and I've never looked back. My manga (and anime) tastes are all across the board, from the embarassingly girly (Lucky Star, K-On!), to the thoughtful/philosophical (Ergo Proxy, Death Note, Elfen Leid) to the mindlessly violent and gory (Hellsing).
I tend to find that I can't get into the really big, popular mangas such as Naruto, Bleach, etc.
